Gwen smiled when he complimented her choice of name. Her mother had been the only one to say that it was a sweet name. It had been immediately shortened by Godric, who said it was too big a name for such a little girl. She could grow into it when she was older. For now...

And he had been right, as he usually was.

It was reassuring that he passed off her apologies about Lora's crying. Of course, she had been sincere but he was correct - babies did cry. Lora was no longer a little baby anymore, and yet she still struggled to sleep through the night to her mother's concern. And now that she was here, no longer employing a nurse to care for her daughter, it was only going to be more challenging.

Of course, the house elf who was taking care of the children during the day offered to help at night if Gwen needed it but she would feel bad about making the poor thing work so hard. Besides, she was Lora's mother. She would find a way to make it work because it was her responsibility to do so. Even thinking about the endless nights made her want to yawn. However, that would be completely inappropriate to do in public. Appalling behavior, really.

When he offered to escort her back to her room, she hesitated for a moment. What would people think if they were seen together? They had not officially introduced. Then again, who was there to see them? Just her brother's friends and she already knew what most of them thought of her.

Would it be any different than any of the other times a strange man escorted her home to yell at her brother for letting his sister for interfering where she wasn't welcome? It was much better than that! Surely no one could object. And they were just colleagues. Perhaps with a possible friendship in the works. Platonic! But a friendship. And colleagues. Respectful of each other and he was a knight; he was only being chivalrous.

Realizing that she'd left it a bit long, she simply held out her arm to him with a reassuring smile. "I would like that. Thank you, Sir Raine."
